Diana Brandmeyer – Guest Post

I have been let loose on Retha’s site! She’s said I can write what I want about myself! Yes! I love fiction!

Hi, my name is Diana Lesire Brandmeyer I live in a mansion, with many people to wait on me, make that a mansion on an island where it only rains when I want it too. While I’m making up stuff I’d like to be in excellent physical condition without working out, throw in a cook for me too please.

My reality is much different. Here’s the real truth about me.

I live in a regular house that I clean (when I must) and I also cook and do laundry. I don’t do windows often not sure why—maybe it’s because when I do clean them, the farmer gets out his tractor and plows the field?

I’m married and have 3 grown sons and 2 of them are married. I am blessed with wonderful daughter-in-laws that know how to wrap presents! Yes, I find this exciting after many years of, “Here mom, I saved money by wrapping it in the Wal Mart bag.” They didn’t understand the NEED for pretty. They do now—marriage will teach young men new things.

Writing about people that don’t exist is the best job ever! I often was in trouble at school for daydreaming. I wasn’t daydreaming. I was making up stories. I’m so sad the teachers didn’t get that.

I do have a blog www.dianabrandmeyer.com/blog where I write about the excitement (or not!) of being an empty nester, gluten-free have-to-be, and whatever comes to mind that day. It’s like recess for my brain; exploring topics that interest me in hopes that someone else is intrigued by the same thing.

The books I write seem to have a reoccurring theme. It’s important to me that readers understand no matter what the circumstances they are never alone. God is there with you. I know this from personal experience. There were days after my first husband died that I knew God carried me –sometimes I think He may have even made dinner for my kids! Then when I blended my family He was there again during the tough times and the exciting times.

Here’s a little more information about my current book, Mind of Her Own and me.

Thanks Retha for having me on today.

Mind Of Her Own

mind of her own 119

Who knew making dinner could change your life? Louisa Copeland certainly didn’t. But when the George Foreman grill fell out of the pantry onto her head, resulting in a bump and a mighty case of amnesia, Louisa’s life takes a turn for the unexpected. Who was this Collin fellow, claiming she was his wife? And whose kids are those? Her name couldn’t be Louisa. Why, she was the renowned romance writer Jazz Sweet, not a Midwestern mom of three. Struggling to put the pieces together of the life she’s told she had, Louisa/Jazz may realize that some memories are better left alone.

Hi Diana, I hate to clean too, and I definitely don’t do windows. I love making up stories, and I’ve always been a dreamer. Nice to meet you, and will try to drop by to visit your blog as I can. How did you meet Retha?

    Blessings, Barb

      Hi Barbara,

We could be friends. No need to worry what the house looks like before we dropped by for a visit! :)

Diana it is I who am honored.
Barbara and Diana, two great people – so we have another thing in common – ‘allergic’ to house cleaning.
Barbara, I sent you an email.
        Blessings
        Retha
